  • DEBT FREE!!!

After being in debt with Nationals for many years, I am proud to announce that the Missouri Theta Chapter is now debt free!

General Information

"Why should I rush SigEp?"

Sigma Phi Epsilon is the largest fraternity in the United States. The SigEps of UCM promote principles that are essential to success in college, relationships, and life. Sigma Phi Epsilon is about finding and developing the Balanced Man who is a leader, an athlete, a scholar, and a gentleman. We're dedicated to building and developing lasting friendships and memories, promoting leadership skills, and having fun.

"When can I rush SigEp?"

SigEp isn't limited to rush week, we offer year round recruitment which lets any new member join at any time. We are however strict on who can become our brother. We seek out those who are Social, Athletic, Outgoing, Talented, Ambitious, Intelligent and Balanced.

"What kind of community service and philanthropy does SigEp do?"

SigEp at UCM makes weekly trips to the Veteran's Home to serve lunch to the Vets. We also organize many philanthropic events that impact and help our community as well as other national organizations. It could be a Marathon, Building a House, Fundraising for a Cause or just Volunteer Work, the SigEps at UCM are always working hard to give back and be an active part of the community.

"Where do you live?"

Most of the SigEps at UCM live on Ming Street. We have an entire Apartment Complex all to ourselves. With members graduating and moving out there is usually someone looking for a roommate for the next semester. Contact us to come check us out.

"Do you participate in Athletics?"

Yes, Yes and YES. We try to dominate every event humanly possible, if you enjoy or play any sport, wrestling, tennis, swimming, basketball, and football and enjoying winning even more SigEp is the place for you. We are always looking for talented Athletes in any area.

"I don't like paying for my friends."

Sigma Phi Epsilon does not like paying for their friends either. SigEp is not just a group of friends; Sigma Phi Epsilon is a brotherhood and a family. Membership dues allow SigEp to hold a wide range of social events, intramurals and brotherhood programs. These events are chosen and planned by the brotherhood to ensure money is well spent. Any SigEp brother would agree that the benefits they receive from the brotherhood greatly outweigh the cost of dues. A short list of programs the chapter puts on that dues go towards include:

• Socials with Sororities
• Participating in Greek Week and Homecoming
• Big Annual Parties
• Networking and Academic Programming
• Athletic Tournaments and Events

"I'm concerned about my grades; will joining a fraternity hurt my GPA?"

Becoming a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon is actually likely to help your grades. Sigma Phi Epsilons average GPA is usually in the top standing of all the Fraternities at UCM.The fraternity opens new members up to a network of older brothers who often have taken the same classes and can give valuable academic advice. We also usually have brothers at the library studying during the week. Additionally, any brother whose GPA drops below a 3.0 is required to complete study hours which are tracked by the chapter to encourage better grades. It is also important to remember that your grades are ultimately your own responsibility and every SigEp must balance the fraternity, school, work and fun in their years of college in order to be successful. The average SigEps GPA increases after joining.
